Create LANDSurface
Multiple ways to create LANDSurface
There are several ways to go about creating a LANDSurface, but each of them involves selecting:
- three reference points (minimum).
- the area for the LANDSurface.
LANDSurface based on selected objects
- Go to LAND4 Palette/Category.
- Set Category for your new LANDSurface.

- Select a minimum of three existing reference points among existing:
- Spot Levels,
- Ridge Lines, or
- Contour Lines.
- Go to:
- LAND4 Palette/LANDSurfaces, or
- LAND4/Group Palettes/Show LANDSurface Palette.
- Press Create LANDSurface button.
- Select area for LANDSurface:
- use the Magic Wand, or
- draw a closed polygon – LAND4 uses the ARCHICAD Polyline tool.
- The Create LANDSurface dialog opens and offers the possibility to add objects to/remove objects from a selection set.
Note! Objects from all LAND4 Categories can be added. - To create LANDSurface, press green tick in dialog.

LANDSurface based on selected area
- Go to LAND4 Palette/Category.
- Set Category for your new LANDSurface
In the example below, the Category is set to “LAND4 New”.

- Press Create LANDSurface.
- Select area for LANDSurface:
- use the Magic Wand, or
- draw a closed polygon – LAND4 uses the ARCHICAD Polyline tool.
- Now two things happen:
- objects belonging to the selected LAND4 Category and impacting the triangulation of the selected area will automatically be enhanced, and
- the Create LANDSurface dialog opens and enables you to add objects to/remove objects from a selection set.
Note! Objects from all LAND4 Categories can be added.

- To create LANDSurface, press green tick in dialog.
Triangulation, 2D
The illustration below depicts the created LANDSurface in 2D with the setting Show Triangulation in 2D activated.
