Volumetrics Surface
The Create Volumetrics Surface tool enables you to compare two LANDSurfaces.
The outcome of this comparison will be a Volumetrics Surface, a resulting surface showing the height or level difference between the two selected LANDSurfaces.
Create Volumetrics Surface
To use the Create Volumetrics Surface tool:
- Go to:
- LAND4/Group Palettes/Show LANDSurface Palette, or
- LAND4 Palette/Surfaces.
- Press Create Volumetrics Surface.

- The Volumetrics Palette will open.
- Use pen tool to select the LANDSurfaces to be compared (In the example below: New Terrain and Existing Terrain ).
- Define the area for the resulting surface:
- use Magic Wand, or
- draw closed polygon (LAND4 uses ARCHICAD polyline tool for this).
- Once this process is done, the Resulting Surface will be generated as a LANDSurface.
- Place the Volumetrics Stamp anywhere on the canvas.
Automatically updated
If one of the selected parent LANDSurfaces is edited, the Resulting Surface will automatically be updated accordingly.
Note! To update Volumetrics Stamp, press Recalculate Volumetrics.

Once this process is done, the Resulting Surface will be generated in 3D:

The Volumetrics Stamp
The Volumetrics Stamp offers information on e.g. Area ID, Gross Volume, FILL or CUT Volume and volume to be added or removed from the site.
Placement of stamp
The Volumetrics Stamp can be placed anywhere on the screen.

Recalculate Volumetrics
ReCalculate Volumetrics can be used to update the Volumetrics Stamp, when one or both parent LANDSurfaces have been edited.
To update stamp
- Select stamp to be updated.
- Go to:
- LAND4/Group Palettes/Show LANDSurface Palette, or
- LAND4 Palette/Surfaces.
- Press ReCalculate Volumetrics.
