Drape functionality
Draping
The LAND4 Drape function enables you to connect/drape the following Archicad elements to a LANDSurface:
- ARCHICAD objects
- Columns
- Polylines/Splines
- Spot Levels.
Adjusts automatically
After draping your objects onto the LANDSurface, their height will be automatically adjusted to match the height of the surface in that particular location. Moreover, the objects will remain connected to the surface. As a result, if any changes are made to the surface, the objects will follow those changes.
The Drape button has its own group on the LAND4 palette:

To drape/connect an ARCHICAD object to a LANDSurface
- Place the object over the LANDSurface.
- Select the object and the surface.
- Press the Drape function button.

To drape a Polyline/Spline to a LANDSurface
- Draw a Polyline/Spline in the plan view over the LANDSurface.
- Select the Polyline/Spline and the desired surface area.
- Press the Drape function button.

After draping your 2D Polyline/Spline to the LANDSurface, it will become a 3D Ridge Line that follows the terrain, adapting when the LANDSurface is updated.

To drape/connect Spot Levels to a LANDSurface
- Place the Spot Levels over the LANDSurface.
- Select the Spot Levels and the LANDSurface.
- Press the Drape function button.

The Spot Levels now have and display the elevation of the terrain in those specific locations (in this case, a 5m x 5m grid). The Spot Levels are not part of the LANDSurface but will update accordingly when their location is moved.
